Have any Freedom 25 owners noticed that she tends to sit below her
waterlines in the stern? This was particularly a problem when I had
to live mine in the marina over last winter. The weed in the stern
was at least 2 inchens over the waterline. I have an outbord with
all the weight inside shifted towards the bow.
Also: I have a rotating wing mast. When I bought the boat there was
a plastic collor inside the mast step. Is this ment to be at the
base of the mast or fitted at the bearing at the deck? Does anyone
know of a F25 wing mast failing?
Thanks
Larry

Larry;
The plastic ring was supposed to be at the deck as a bearing. At
the base of the mast is bearing that supports the mast and allows it
to revolve. On the old Freedom B/B there was a discussion of the
replacement of bothe. If you need it I’ll try to see if I can find
the copy. Let me know

When I had my F-30 in a marina in the San Francisco Bay for three years, I noticed that it had growth on the port side above the waterline. Didn’t have that problem when it was in Southern California. Couldn’t figure out what was going on, but it worried me. So at the next bottom job, I had them raise the water line about an inch. The guy at the boatyard told me the problem was likely due to the prevailing winds at my slip and not weight distribution. When I moved her back to Southern California it was obvious that the prevailing winds were the culprit, but raising the waterline cured the growth problem.

I have a Freedom-25 in Montreal, Canada and have the same
problem.
The previous owner of this boat explained that this was because
of the weight from the 8HP Bukh sail-drive diesel. His solution,
that has worked somewhat, is several pounds of lead in the
forward anchor compartment.
So far so good.
