I flew the gun mounted spinnaker for the first time on Saturday. What fun! This little F30 was easily making 6.5 – 7 knots.
Now for the not so good part: I am sure that I had the sail rigged completely wrong. Simple things like; where do I position the blocks on the rail? What how do the lines attached to either end of the spinnaker pole run back to the cockpit?
The boat came with a Haarstick spinnaker chute. Easy to attach to the bow pulpit, but how do you attach the cord to the center of the sail (I used a Bolin)? On the other end, where do I secure the line?
I know that once I get the setup it will be Freedom-easy, but for now, I need some help.
If you look in the manuals and documentation area, the F25 manual has a pretty good diagram of how to run all the lines for the gunmount arrangement.
Thanks for the info. I was able to put 2 and 2 together. Great Sail!
Where can I get a spinnaker halyard that will circle back around through the spinnaker sock for dousing the chute? Does anyone know of a maker or perhaps there are specifications on how to make one? No rush now… Eleuthera is on the hard for the season here in the “Great Lake State”. Oh well. Many thanks to all for the support on this great community website. None better in the sailing world!
