Does anyone know how antenna and wind speed cables are routed in the
F30/36 mast? My cables are loose and clanking on the inside of the
mast when at anchor in a chop. Any fixes for loose cables?

With the mast down, slide foam pipe insulation up the cables as far as you
can. Make sure the insulation pieces are wrapped with electric tape every
foot or so. Secure by taping to the cables at the bottom.

Buy 24" wire ties from Home depot and attach them to your wire
bundle in a 120* spread pattern (mercedes benz emblem) every 5’.
You’ll never hear the wires again. Promise.

Probably the best fix is to remove the mast, undo ALL the wiring at each fixture, secure a “messenger” line to each wire, then pull the whole mess out the base of the mast. While you have the wires out, you can inspect for wear, cracks, bare spots etc. Encase the whole bundle in foam pipe insulation, wire tie at intervals, then pull it back up the inside of your mast with the messenger lines. Make sure that you secure the messenger lines securely to the wire so you don’t lose any wires during the pull-in. That should solve your problem. Thanks, all, for ideas on solving this problem. I take it that there was no built-in conduit for cables to be added. Probably should remove the mast for a thorough inspection of all parts, reinstalling these noisy cables, and fattening up the step to get rid of the nasty deep clank when the mast base moves laterally in a deep roll. Not looking forward to the project…but see that it is the only way to solve these pesky issues. I want to blast across the Gulfstream to the Bahamas and then back up the east coast with complete confidence…clunk and clank free.
