We sail a F30 that has a port setee berth that slides out. I assume
that the purpose of the sliding berth is so that it can be converted
from a single berth to a double berth. So far so good. However, the
pullout arrangement is not functional as a berth since there are no
supports in the “out position”. There is a hinged flap that drops
down at the aft end of the berth but it is too long to be a support.
Can anyone describe a functional setup for a F30 or similar vessel?
That support will fit very effectively in the joint where the berth and
deck meet and the support will be much better than if it went straight
to the deck.
Incidentally, if you consider that a double berth, you are skinnier
than most.

Try placing the drop down flap such that it forms an
an angle between the bunk extension and the cabin
floor adjacent to the bottom edge of the locker. That
creates the support you seek.
