Hi all, does anyone use assymetrical furler? I am contemplating purchasing a Facnor furler and flying a asymetrical spinaker. My F32 did of have the gun mount spinakker with it when i purchased it. Any comments on both using a furler combined with or without a bow sprit would be appreciated…

hi
the main thing about bowsprits is it keeps it off the pulpit and lets you have more area and less compression on mast due to greater j measurement.
furlers are not used very often on full spinakers, snuffers are more usual
furlers are more usualy found on #0 sails and drifter reachers as being flat they roll up better.
the only time i saw a furler on a spin it was being taken off because it didnt work very well.
personaly i just pull it down behind the main.
i wouldnt spend money on one of those lovely facnor furlers unless i was sure it was going to work as theyre expensive bits of kit
mind you if it works … go for it
have fun , phil d kusi uk
