F32 / F33 Internal mast collar

Hi all,

Advice needed - not sure if this is the correct thread, but I am currently looking at an F33 UK Gunmount which is leaking internally along the Aluminum mast at the deck head. There seems to be no internal collar or finishing just the frayed and stained edges of the head lining and I am wondering what should be there - any photos would be a great help in assessing whether it’s a show stopper or not…

On the US boats it’s just a wooden ring that screws into the headliner—it’s entirely aesthetic, not structural.

If it was me, I would replace those rusted fasteners and make sure that the ring is properly bedded with sealant so that water can’t continue to come in and cause them to rust.

Any leaking at the mast should be addressed at the deck level not in the V-berth.
