Does anyone know who can build a mizzen traveler for an F33. They are not exactly off the shelf parts.
Ive done it, custom bent track from harken. You fill out a form and they bend it to your dimensions. Talk to your supplier, alternatively don’t bother with a traveler anf use a system with a fiddle block or double on the boom, a single stand up block at one end of the track, and a single with becket stand up block with cam cleat and ratchet. So it starts at the beckrt, through the one on the boom down to the opposite side, back through the one on the boom, down to the ratchet and through the cleat. Im not convinced it actually needs a traveller at all, and it gets in the way of the emergency tiller. Several other cat ketch designs dont have a traveler. You can simplify this down to a 2:1 if you use a winch.
After talking with some other sailors, I have opted to get a new custom traveler for my main sail built by Garhauer in California. Considerably less than Harken and arguably according to people who have switched to Garhauer in many instances superior to Harken. I can say I have been overwhelmingly impressed by Garhauer’s customer service and attention to detail thus far. That is not to say Harken is not excellent. Just wanting to share some feedback on another option for you to consider as well. Cheers.
