Anyone know where the electrical propane shutoff selonoid is located on the Pedrick F35. I am no longer able to get into the aft starboard locker so I’m guessing that’s where it’s located. It looks like after 28 years it needs replacing.
Mine is in the propane locker with the two tanks - aft stbd .
Found it, thanks.
Let us know exactly the part(s) you replace it with, Mine is 38 years old, it works, but, until I have a spare in hand, I am afraid to touch it.
I’ll need to replace both the solenoid and the regulator.
Nice. That allows you to switch bottles without having to move the hose from bottle to bottle, correct?
Would you mind posting the part number for the valve/solenoid?
Hello Mike - peppery on the bay today practicing asymmetrical gybes for the DDR. Hey I see on Amazon that same solenoid- but with 2 included hoses and different connectors the his original #2 below. I don’t see his nifty #1 housing…… I’ll check mine out and may order this if it can work here - mine is original…. Mine is the second pic
This link should get you there. Yes, it can be switched to either tank, or if both valves are open it will automatically switch over when one tank is empty.

I know I should have looked at the 12v connection to my solenoid, but I didn’t - (if you don’t mind a dumb question) where is your electrical connection on your unit
Thanks for the link to the solenoid
.
I second the thanks! My question above was not right- I meant what type of selinoid did you connect to the bottom with that new regulator ( it’s the selinoid that has the electrical connection) …. Thanks
Hi Camino- not sure if I’m following your question correctly, but it’s a pretty common Trident solenoid switched at the DC panel below. Hope that helps!
Yep perfect - seems like, coincidentally, that when Mike posts, I’ll look at my same equipment and think “ shoot that needs to be replaced!” My solenoid and regulator is OEM, my VHF antenna is OEM. Both are cracked and worn - so I ordered all. After this upcoming 70 nm race I’ll set to work to replace this equipment - fun…. And thanks!
Tore out the old LPU regulator and solenoid and tried to install the new - well I needed I more part so it’ll have to wait leaving me with the bbq in the stern. Leaving me time to clean the propane locker!!
The propane locker on my boat is a rats nest. I do clean it but the nature of the locker - more or less open to the elements for ventilation - really allows it to get dirty and spidery very quickly in our environs. When I attack the solenoid replacement I will be looking to easily removable tank connectors so it is less hassle to get the “tank in use” out of the locker. Currently I need to wrench the connector off and when I think of cleaning I usually say to myself …I’ll do it tomorrow.
Of course, tomorrow never comes.
I’ve approached my propane differently than most! You’ll freak. I leave my valve open nearly always and rely on the solenoid! My locker as seen is vented overboard- the bottom was covered with dirt, which I cleaned out. Taking out a tank took 2-3 minutes with a wrench. (All of those bolt holes seen will be filled in) This new system with the dual regulator will (should) make things a lot easier. Waiting for connector parts. My kit came with a 90 degree gas line to solenoid 3/8” x 3/8” - I needed a 3/8” to 1/4” ( didn’t know that until I started to remove the old. Then there is no room in the locker to install the regulator unit by spinning it on so I need a couple of 3/8” MPT to 3/8” FPT to wrench it all together - make sense? …and does anyone know if I can use a union coupler to join the regulator with the solenoid ( I don’t have space to turn the whole unit to fit the parts together)
