F39 Swivel Chairs and small console - FREE

I’m going to be building a settee in my F39 Express where the swivel chairs and center console/table are situated. I have the chairs and console in storage in Glen Cove, NY. They are in good condition, so wanted to offer them up free of charge rather than send them to the dumpster. All you need to do is pick them up sometime in the March 15-29 timeframe (next time I’ll be in the area for an extended stretch). See pic of them installed. Anyone interested?

Removing the chairs for a settee seems to be a common change for the the 39 Express. I have had WhiteWings since 1996 and the previous owner had alread removed the chairs. I built in chairs with storage and moved my batteries there when I installed a generator where the batteries use to be in the engine room. Good luck with the change.

I’m doing something similar. Here’s a pic of the settee mid-work. The original port water tank has developed a leak somewhere inaccessible. So adding new tanks in the settee and moving the pumps to that side as well. I’ll be cutting out the original tank and using that for storage.

This is what they look like when you finally remove all the cabinetry to get to them. Not a hard job but tedious. Was my winter project when my starboard tank started leaking. Had a new one made by a company in North Carolia thought there are several companies that will build custom tanks.

The starboard tank would have been a lot easier. The port tank access is more involved with the cabinetry above. I started to take it apart and realized there are some parts glued together. I didn’t want to break anything, so took the current route. I wanted the settee anyway. If the boat balance ends up way off then I’ll find a way to replace the original tank. But I’ve also removed the diesel tanks for an electric conversion and I “think” the weights will balance out right with lighter weight batteries in the stbd settees. We shall see.

This is what they look like when out. My port and starboard sides are identical with the cabinets like in your picture. I was lucky and did not encounter any glued joints that had to be seperated. Best of luck with the installation. I would be interested to hear your satisfication with the electrical conversion. I still do long passages and I am not a purist. The wind dies and I turn on the yanmar instead of sitting in the ocean like a cork weighting for mother nature to forgive my sins and send some wind my way.
