Freedom 25 question

Does the wingmast version fly a fractional spinnaker and staysails?
Does anyone know if the heights of the wingmast vs roundmast masts is
different? I know the wingmast has running backs to deal with side
loading, but I wasn’t sure about the spin rig and all.

thanks,
Lance

The wingmast is somewhat shorter than the round mast. The round mast
needs more sail area to make for efficiency loss. The spinnaker and
blade jib are fractional rigged, and there being no jibstay, the
blade jib is set “flying”. The running backstays take the stress off
the wingmast when running with spinnaker up (when running, the
wingmast is turned approximately 90 degrees to the apparent wind, and
needs the support of a backstay If the wind is up (original manual
says 20 knots). Herm

Check that! On the wingmast, the spinnaker, and blade jib are
masthead rigged, as are the running backstays. The spinnaker pole is
(almost) massive, and about 16 feet long. Herm

My wing mast, as most, does not have a fractional spinnaker. I think I
saw one picture once of a wing mast with a fractional spinnaker. I
understand the wing mast is about a foot shorter than the round mast.
