Freedom 28/30 (or 33/35) Centerboard pivot nylon bush specifications (attn Castaway)

Hi everyone. I’ll be having a look inside the CB trunk of my new to me UK Freedom 30 Cat Ketch soon, as the previous (original) owner from 1981 never looked in there, and I may want to take out the CB to treat the osmosis on it (and probably in the trunk) too.
I’ve been looking through earlier posts and found lots of helpful comments especially from AndyC, Castaway and Phil_Downey on the CB but I can’t find the specifications for the pin or nylon bush anywhere. Can anyone who has had a new bush or pin made share the specifications please, even for the F33/35 as I could use that as a starting point for tolerances and so on for the F38/30

I have attached the orginal scale drawings (F30/149?) for the F30 UK model that I was given with the boat

, but they don’t give any details for the pivot, referring instead to drawing F30/105, just in case anyone has that or the other associated drawings (F35/113 for the keel lifting eyes and F30/108 for the retaining pin)

Hi

On my 1980 Freedom 33, the fin axis is a stainless steel tube. I simply doubled the tube from the inside.
The nylon part must be on the daggerboard side.

Great, this drawing of the daggerboard !
If you have any others, we’d love to see them!

Sorry I thought I replied to this earlier: thanks for the picture - why did you use an inner sleeve for the pivot pin?

I’m afraid I don’t have any other drawings

I don’t have complete confidence in the longevity of 316 stainless steel when immersed for long periods in seawater. Because of “granular corrosion”. The interior becomes porous, but the surface of the stainless steel appears to be in good condition.
So after 45 years of loyal service with the original tube, I prefer to reinforce it by lining it from the inside.
