I just noticed this on my quasi new to me Freedom 30. Is there supposed to be a pin through the gooseneck and the toggle?
A bolt with a ring pin - see pic. Recommend contact Paul Dennis WRBtwks@aol.com
When I looked at the specs for Isomat boom parts, it seems it’s a standard 3/8 x 2 clevis pin. The next trick is getting the holes to align if I can without taking everything off.
On a related note, does anyone know with any certainty which Isomat Boom was used on circa 1987 Freedom 30s? It loks like it could be NB-40, but that’s just based on Isomat’s note about usage.
According to RigRite, it was indeed the NB40. Also, keep in mind: these are all metric, so that’s gonna be a 10mm pin not a 3/8". Might not make a difference, but it’s something to remember if you find that it’s not a nice tight fit.

It’s remarkable that RigRite is asking $39 for that pin…I know, I know…
It’s outrageous. They have us over a dang barrel with these specialized unobtainium parts. I broke the stupid tack shackle for my gooseneck in 2021 and had to spend $47 to replace it (it’s currently $59!).
However, when it comes to a simple 10mm clevis pin, that’s something I think McMaster could handle. Just make sure you measure carefully, and order for the usable length, not the nominal length.
Yes, I was able to find one at Defender marine for 5 bucks and change.
