Cracked from the outside or inside? Run all the way through?
Before you do the repair I’d try to figure out what caused the
problem. Shaft alignment OK? Strut well secured? Mounts ancient? Hard
to say anything without seeing it but I’d be very concerned if the
tube cracked due to some type of side loading. Any other sign of
trouble? Bent or damaged prop blade? Or was the prop recently replaced?
Did your surveyor have any thoughts on the cause.
Congrats on the purchase. You now have a great boat.

Shaft tube
On F44 Cayenne, the tube was in tact, but there was a leak between the tube and the hull. I was ale to remove the tube by cutting it in half lengthwise, removing that part of the hull. If your hull configuration around the tube is similar, I can go into the process more extensively.

Usually, these sterntubes are cracked because someone hoped to fix a
leak by tightening the hoseclamp around the rubber seal a bit more.
These glassfiber tubes can only stand so much before they crack.
Perhaps the tube is not cracked up to the inside stern, in which
case you might try to move the end of the rubber seal a bit further
aft. This is no temporary fix, because the tube will crack more and
more.
A permanent simple solution is to haul the boat out and epoxy an
oversize tube over the cracked tube as a sleeve. It you epoxy a
piece of the original diameter tube inside the sleeve, you don’t
need a larger rubber seal adapter.
Good luck!
