Freedom 35 1993 Pedrick keel drawings

Looking for a good explanation of the construction of the deep keel.mine is loose. has keel bolts inside but there isn’t an apparent keel joint. doesn’t leak. is it also encased in glass. can’t find a good contact for Dave Pedrick.

First off, David Pedrick lives in Newport, RI. Here is a link to his website and contact info:

Practically all Freedom Yachts with fixed keels have a molded-in fiberglass keel stub to which the keel is bolted, about 6”-8” deep. The bottom 2”-4” of the keel stub and the top 2”-4” of the keel itself are rabbeted out about 1/4”all around, and once the keel is mated to the hull and bolted tight, the rabetted area all aroundd the keel is wrapped in fiberglass to permanently seal the joint.

If you cannot reach David Pedrick, contact Paul Dennis at Warren River Boatworks in Warren, RI. Paul knows all there is to know about Freedom Yachts. Website:

I hope that helps,

Cheers, Eric

Thx so much.

I know Dave Pedrick but there’s no response from his website contacts. They say he has retired.

I’ll try the other contact.
