Hi everybody,
does anyone already have removed fuel tanks on a freedom 39 PH?
My port fuel tank (stainless steel) is leaking and I must take it off for welding.
Any help / experience welcome!
For info, my boat is in France.
Thank you, Patrick
These guys had the blueprint for my Freedom 35 holding tank and did a great job at making a new one for me. In the event you decide to replace your fuel tank rather than repair, they may be helpful.
In replacing my holding tank I had to remove a wall and then cut a corner off the tank to get it out. Luther’s was able to make the tanks slightly smaller so I could get it back in. It was not a fun job. Good luck with your project.

Thank you Antares35,
However my boat being in France, I don’t believe Luther’s can be of much help. I should have mentioned my country of residence, my mistake !
Best, Patrick
Drain and use an epoxy metal, some very good ones on the market.
Also in France, Brittany
I found my leak was small from the inspection cover and only leaked when the tank was filled up to the filler hose. A good start is to find source if the leak. Drain the tank and look for pitting inside. I had a motorcycle tank repaired by a radiator repair shop, where they put epoxy inside and rotated the tank forming an epoxy tank inside.
Yes another good alternative using epoxy resin makes a sound repair.
Thank you, I will investigate !
The main problem is, I want to remove the tank from the boat, and that was my first concern…
