Freedom 45 water heater

Posted by debbiekossoff (dkossoff@…>)

I have a Freedom 45 center cockpit built in 1989. The coil inside the water
heater burned out
and we took it out of the unit. It is a double coil, roughly 12 inches long. The
coils are
mounted on a square plate, that were held in place with a plate, not a screw on
style you see
more of in use now.

The heater has no visible manufacturers name on it, and I can’t seem to find a
replacement at
plumbing supply stores.

Anyone have this situation before? What heaters did Freedom install around that
time?

I replaced that heating element on my freedom 36/38 2 years ago. I purchased it
from Davis and Warshaw in new york city and was able to fit it nicely to the
tank. Its more or less a standard heating element for domestic hot water
heaters.
