Perhaps a silly question:
I see numerous Tabs and (very interesting) topics related to 21s, 25s, 32s, … 38s, 40s, 45s, but only a handful, if that, related to the 39s.
Are 40s or 38s the same model? If not, it’s it because there are too few 39 (Express or Pilot House) hulls?
Befuddled in SF.

Ron Holland designed the Freedom 39 pilothouse model with considerable input from Rob James (skipper of the 3 masted Freedom 70), John Oakley (who campaigned a Freedom 35 in the Round the Island Race and the Solent Series winning every race and made the sails for all UK built Freedoms and Fisher motor sailers), Anton Emmerton, myself and Thanos (in-house naval architect of Fairways Marine where I was CEO for 3 years. This model was only built post Fairways Marine by a builder in Devon and in the US. I don’t know how many were built on either side of the Atlantic but it may not have been that numerous. The owner could choose wrap around sails for the schooner or conventional fully battened sails on a track. The former were more efficient and would drive the boat faster.
I have a Freedom Express, currently in Long Island, NY and moving soon to Norfolk, VA. Happy to answer any questions. Mine is hull 44, but that number probably includes the pilot house versions.
White Wings is a 39 Express hull no 34 located in Mobjack Bay, souther Chesaapeake Bay. I have had her for 30 year in August. Not a lot of them built and they rarely change hands.
