Freedom Logo Clothing

Posted by ajlorman (ajlorman@…>)

I’ve seen in the archives that list members periodically ask about
getting Freedom logo clothing. My kids wear school uniforms and, as
a result, I’ve gotten to know the uniform supplier/manufacturer. I
asked him about doing some Freedom logo clothing and he was willing
to do so. (Since the Freedom logo is the same as the 1976
Bicentennial logo, I don’t believe there’s a copyright issue.) He
can do embroidery or screenprint (although the latter is only good
for T shirts) and it would also be possible (at added cost) to have
your boat name under the logo. There is a large variety of clothing
items which can be embroidered.

I don’t know what pricing will be – it depends on the number of
garments ordered. (My kids’ uniforms are reasonably priced.) Nor
will I make a cent of profit; if this gets going, all orders will be
directly to the manufacturer. Before I go too far down the line
with this, I’d like to see if there’s sufficient interest. Would
anyone interested please respond with an idea of what you’d like.
If there’s insufficient interest, I suspect the project will die.

Nice of you to look in to this, Al. I would be very
interested in
having a contact to supply crew with T-shirts, short
or long sleeved. We did great as an under-estimated
rag tag “big fat cruiser” crew, going up against the
spendy sleds this last race season. Can’t imagine how
much happier my fine crew would be, shining brightly
in their matching Freedom crew shirts next season. Let
us know, and thank you! Jacqui Mac

I’m interested also. It looks like some are interested in polo shirts, that would be ok with me. I also would like my boat name embroidered. I’d prefer it not to be a white shirt though, but white writing. It’s optional.

There’s no need to do anything as a group, especially since some
people want boat names included. I’ve been using Queensboro Shirt
for quite some time with great success and great prices. All you
have to do is to ship them an electronic version of logo and they’ll
embroider it on shirts, hats, etc. Note that I have nothing to do
with Queensboro. I’m just a satisfied customer. Their URL is
http://www.queensboroshirt.com/ .

Note that I’ve placed the Freedom Star logo on my web site. You can
access it at http://www.geoffschultz.org/Freedom_Star_Logo.jpg
or .gif.

I had my boat name with the Freedom logo done by Foster’s Promotional Goods in Marblehead on hats and polo shirts. They did a nice job. You can contact Paul Brancaleone email:paulb@… phone: 781-631-3824 ext 10

The Freedom/Bicentennial Logo at Lands End was Embroidery Code # 906. Months ago a Lands End rep told me that they can still use that logo if you give them the number. Give it a try, and let us know what happens. Charlie
