Good morning fellow Freedom Yacht owners. Some possible GOALS of our
proposed Freedom “Association”:
- Coordination of Sailing Activities-Freedom Yacht Races; Rallys;
Group Cruises.
- Pride of Ownership-official Freedom Yacht Burgee; hats, shirts,
jackets, etc. with Logo and coordinated clothing.
- Website, with owners’ information; activities calendar; news
reports; Race results; “For Sale” section for Yachts, sails,
hardware, official Freedom clothing, etc; pictures of yachts,
owners, officers, etc.
4 Group puchasing power for purchases and yacht service, with
discounts and specials for members of Freedoms Association.
- Public Awareness of the quality of Freedom Yachts.
- Better communication and coordination with, and service from, the
Freedom Yachts builder.
Hope this prompts more activity, ideas and suggestions towards
formation of the Association. Charlie on Mobile Bay, Alabama

Good list. We have a number of suggested goals and activities and to me there seems to be a fair amount of common interest in many of the goals you suggest. Some work has been done to gather up some of the technical information scattered in the old archives, contacts have been initiated with Freedom and some vendors, and papers have been filed (and the needed directors have volunteered) to form the non for profit corporation (any update on this Al?) . Once that is done we’ll try and get more organized and involve more of those interested in leading the various activities.

Hello again. I believe it would be in the best interest of those
interested in forming an Association, for The Owner or Moderator of
this website to post periodic messages giving specific information
on the progress being made, including: posting in the “files”
section of this website the Articles of “formation” of the
corporation; and the Names of those doing specific jobs at this
time, and of those who are volunteering to be the interim officers
and directors. I believe we should first form the Association, and
then take care of the tasks of contacting Freedom Yachts, contacting
vendors, and deciding the timetable for accumulation of archive
information, etc. In other words, let’s not put the cart before the
horse; and let’s keep the rest of us informed. Many Thanks to those
who are working towards the formation of the Association. Charlie

Getting off the ground is always a chicken and egg issue. The only formal thing is awaiting the incorporation. In the meantime some folks have informally started a few things like registering a domain etc. A few of us have advanced money for this and incorporation fees. Once the incorporation is complete then the real organizing begins and I completely agree with your suggestions. I just try and post whatever I’m aware of at this pint.

Thank You Alan. Guess I’m getting a little impatient in my ol’ age.
Thanks again to you and the others who are doing the real work.
