Hi, we bought our Freedom 40/40 hull 1 in July and finally, after a lot of work got her back in the water. Looking at fixing some non-skid damage in the summer, does anyone know what non-skip/anti-slip was used, or one that might be a close match.
Benbirnie - I used Kiwi-Grip - simple tape off, roll on to get the texture you desire. Water based. Has consistency of yogurt. Water clean up of tools (spatula and small texture roller).
Can’t tell from the photo if you have the original mold pattern still or not. Back in 2008, I did some work on my Freedom 25 and was able to get an excellent match from https://gibcoflexmold.com. The pattern I used (GFBW312) doesn’t seem to be available anymore on their website though. 312 is “negative” of the pattern that will result. 312N looks like the resulting pattern, so it would make the “female” version when pressed into the wet gelcoat. I ordered it from Minicraft of Florida (352) 748-5200.
