Be careful because I can load my engine at the dock and get a different result when you are out there in the wind, current, etc.

Thankyou Herm and everyone who helped. Although the boat yard coated the prop and shaft with zinc , lots of barnacles etc. was on the prop and shaft. Cleaned it all up (tough to hold your breath and clean at the same time) Loaded the engine while at the dock all seems ok !

I had my injectors rebuilt and the fuel polished and it didn’t help. I’m now down significant power-almost like I’ve lost an entire cylender, but haven’t cleaned the bottom in three years, could it really be a dirty prop!!!

I’ve never done this and my memory could be wrong but I thought
a mechanic had mentioned using a heat gun.  I know he said to use one to free
up and remove the elbow.

I’ve never used one, but I’ve read about a really interesting concept: Plastic
razor blades. I believe the idea is that they are sharp enough to cut but not
hard enough to scratch stuff (like engine manifolds)…Let us know what
finally works.

Thanks I will try that. I ordered from loctite a spray product called chisel. Plan on doing this work on friday and hope this fixes the loss of power and black smoke. Melissa, I finally resolved my lack of power and black smoke issue. I replaced the mixing elbow on my yanmar 3gm30f. Finally all is good.
