galley sink faucet on F30

Posted by svbagatelle (svbagatelle@…>)

Has anybody replaced their faucet? Mine is made by Indiana Brass and it
leaks despite replacing o-rings. I am not sure if it is a marine
faucet, it seems to be more similar to the standard kitchen faucets
than the ones I see advertised in marine stores. The main thing I
think I need to match is to have the hot and cold supplies feed through
one one large hole in the galley counter, and there are two set screws
on either side. The footprint of the faucet is about 2"x8".

Paul:

I’m not 100 percent sure, but I’ve always thought that the faucet was a standard residential faucet. The set-up with one large hole in the counter for supply lines is very common on residential faucets. I think you’ll find that most residential units fit.

I learned that the galley faucet and drains on the Hoyt 32 were from Central Brass, which still makes them and they seem to have worn well. Not so the galley sink, for which i can’t find a replacement. Any clues, anyone?Jack “Lorman, Alvin J.” <ajlorman@…> wrote: Paul: I’m not 100 percent sure, but I’ve always thought that the faucet was a standard residential faucet. I will be replacing the faucet on my F30 also (same leaking condition)
and was thinking of using one of those kitchen faucets where you can
pull the end out to use for a hand sprayer. My idea is, if I can find
one where you could add to the pull out hose to make it long enough to
pull out into the cockpit, it can do double duty as a “cockpit shower”
(maybe I can get a couple dozen extension hoses and use it for a
anchor rinse down too :-). I agree that most kitchen faucets will do
(I’ve changed them on other boats) as long as you pay attention to how
far the faucet comes out into the sink. Many kitchen faucets aim to
end up in the middle of a deep kitchen sink which makes them too long
for the sink on the F30.
