I’m new to this group and have been lurking for a while. My “21” is a
1984, I think. Shoal draft. I keep it on Taylors Island, MD. sometimes
on trailer at thr marina and sometimes on a boat lift on my pier.
Anyway, I went to the sailboat show in Annapolis, on Thursaday, and
encountered Garry Hoyt, who is marketing/biulding the Alerion series.
They have a 20’ daysailor but didn’t have one at the show. I asked Garry
if he would give up his 21 for an Alerrion 20 and he said, oh,he didn’t
know. The 21 is oneof his favorites. He and his son both talked about
how well the 21 sailed. Thought you might enjoy hearing their opinion. Clyde

What is the brand of your trailer? Did you need to have it fabricated or did it come with the boat?Clyde Wisner <clydewis@…> wrote: I’m new to this group and have been lurking for a while. If anyone is meeting up with Gary Hoyt in the near future please can they ask if he would be prepared to make available a drawing (any scale) of the Freedom 21 hull form? I have emailed & written to Mr Hoyt asking if this would be possible as I wish to make a half model of my much loved F21 which I sail here in the UK on Lake Ullswater in the English Lake District. Unfortunately it was not possible to get a reply to my requests.
I have on my study wall half models of every boat I have owned and I would love to make a half model of my Freedom 21 to add to the collection as looking at a beautifully made mahogany half model would cheer me up in the long British winters and remind me that Spring & Summer are on the way?
Needless to say I would be prepared to sign any appropriate document stating that these lines would be used to make just one half model and would be returned to Mr Hoyt or destroyed on completion of the model as required together with any builders templates, section templates etc.
If anyone could plead this case for me Iand get a response I would be most grateful. Please also sincerely thank Mr Hoyt on my behalf for creating such a wonderful boat.
Best regards
Wilf Bishop

I believe it’s a Triad trailer. Bought the boat on it. It is old but
very substantial. I seem to remember from another group, that a J24
trailer will work. Clyde

Yes it is a Triad trailer and they are located in CT.
