Let my husband out sailing without me on Sunday - disaster… Apparently
he tacked up the lake then, when coming about to sail back, the end of
the boom parted company from the mast! On closer examination it
appears that the rivets have sheared off. Has this happened to anyone
else? Is it a job that you would tackle or do you recommend a trip to
the boatyard?

Could the boom have gone past 80 degrees to beam ? That could probably pool the rivets of.
I’d guess if the holes on the mast are ok and goose neck is not twisted tan it all can be reatached with a riveting tool.Barbara Hindley <andyandbarbara@…> wrote:
