I had this problem with my F 25 in the UK, the teflon buttons were all missing.
I found that plastic gutter material (household type, half circle) was very
useful. One piece, cut to the length of the sleive could be forced in and held
in place by the natural tension. The rest of the surface required a second piece
that was cut to fit and held in place with electrical tape wrapped in and out of
the sleive. I put this piece on the superior portion of the sleive. This
arrangement has lasted several years without having to replace the tape. Lots of
silicon spray on the spar and sleive.

Get a piece of PVC pipe, with a diameter one-half inch larger than
the diameter of the inside of the gunmount sleeve. Cut it to the
length of the sleeve; then cut one-half inch, end to end, off of the
diameter of the PVC. Compress the PVC together, so it will slide into
the sleeve. Because it was originally one-half inch larger than the
diameter of the sleeve, it will try to force itself outwards, into
its original diameter, thereby securing it to the inside of the
sleeve. There is no easier and better solution. Charlie, F21 #212,

I replaced mine on my F 32 with:
Thinwall PVC pipe worked great. I put 5200 in the plugs and it holds perfect.
A little teflon now and again and she slides perfect.
Everthing else did not work long term. This has held and worked for 5 years.
