Had to share this

On my 40/40 i had no way to monitor the tank level on my holding tank. This meant i had to use a flashlight at night to look for a barely visible shadow line on the plastic tank through a little gap in the locker where my water heater sits. A real pain in the butt. After doing some research i found the Simarine radar sending unit with N2k connectivity. Radar Tank Level Sender - Simarine

Im not exaggerating when i say it took 5 minutes to install it. You just clean the plastic tank with an alcohol swab, let it dry and stick the puck to the top if the tank. I then connected the n2k connector to my backbone and viola ! Thats it.
I just ordered two more for fuel and water .. because those tanks are metal, you have to use a plastic adaptor flange which requires either drilling a new hole or replacing your old mechanical sending unit in its place.

Nice! Any headache getting the Raymarine to display the correct label?

None at all. I am about to add two more for water and fuel. The axiom sees the data and adds it automatically. If i remember right i had to name the sender … that was it.

I just spent a couple hours extending my STNG backbone cable up to where my depth transducer is and added another Simarine sender to my water tank. The plastic adapter flange fit perfectly to where my old non functioning fireboy sender unit was attached. No more guessing !!! And an added benefit is that addding a more modern DST transducer will be a snap

Pierce I’ll check out my backbone connections I believe I’ll order this for my 35 ga holding tank!

Do it ! If your F35 has an autopilot control head on the starboard side of the combing, im guessing that theres a T in your backbone right there inside the cockpit locker. Just remove the T and replace it with a 3 port connector and you are good to go. The empty port can be for your fuel tank.
