whose photo is on the masthead of this new web site. Nice job on the
web site!
I worked with Matt Dwyer, former owner of “Engineered”, a few years ago
in providing the photos and assorted documentation that is found on
this web site. Prior to that, there was active correspondence on the
Freedom Yachts message board in the 1990’s until it was wrecked by
spammers.
Although I have traded up to a J/32 (in 2002) I enjoyed sailing the
Freedom 21. I’ve still been in contact with some former owners from
time to time to provide information. I will continue to help out where
I can. I see that the Freedom 21 is still an active boat!
Some brief history:
I purchased hull #259 in the fall of 1994. It was laid-up for 10 years
by the original owner. I extensively re-outfitted the boat and
launched it in 1995. I sailed the boat for 7 years and about 2,500
nautical miles. Mostly weekends during our 6 month season out of
Boston, Massachusetts USA. The boat was sold in the Fall of 2002,
sailed out of Marblehead, Massachusetts, and is now (Nov 2005) up for
sale again.

I finally got my batteries installed under the settees P/S similar to Blue Merle.
Do you have an email address for Matt Dwyer? He installed a 3rd halyard on Engineered and I would like to find out how it worked out.
