Just joined this list and have been browsing the previous posts and
pictures. This is a bit of a re-aquaintance for me: my first sailboat
would have been a Freedom 21, but my eBay bid was sniped aat the last
minute. Bummer. I ended up with an Islander Bahama 24, (too much boat,
but solid and forgiving for a new sailor) then a Kent Ranger 20 (much
better fit, best boat I’ve had so far, lotta fun) and finally a Kent
Ranger 24 (whoops, too much boat again;. I’m currently boatless near
Puget Sound, and the summertime angst is beginning to get to me. I feel
the breeze, see the water, need the boat, thouogh unlikely I’ll have
one this year.
Thanks to Max for this and the other site; I’m loading up on the info
you all have posted, and maybe one day an affordable Freedom 21 will
find its way to me. Since I almost sail single-handed, the features of
the F-21 seem like a perfect for me. Thanks to oyou all for sharing
your experience and photos.

I hear you - these are the days to get out on the water! Emmylou is getting good use, even though we work long hours. We had a great Twilight Sail last night and go out most weekends. What price point would you consider “affordable?” Seems most F-21s are in the $3k - $5k range, depending on quality.
