I’m hoping someone with an early Freedom 40 Center Cockpit (mine was a 1981) might be able to help me out.
Sadly, I lost my boat, Bolero, in November 2020 when she sank during a towing operation at Barnegat Inlet, NJ. I believe the tow was conducted negligently, and I’m currently pursuing a legal case related to the sinking.
I’m trying to document the original configuration of the rudder compartment beneath the aft cabin bunk, particularly the access opening and surrounding structure.
If anyone with a similar Freedom 40 could snap a photo or two of this area, I’d be enormously grateful! No disassembly or tools necessary. And if anyone happens to have a photo with the compartment cover removed, that would be incredible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
