Hey F25 Folks—Anyone Deal With Stubborn Freshwater Tank Issues?

Just joined the Freedom family with a 2003 F25, and I’m stuck on a weird freshwater tank problem I can’t solve alone. Last week, I filled the tank to full (per the gauge) to test the water system before a weekend trip—and now the pump runs nonstop, but only a trickle comes out of the galley faucet or shower. No leaks under the sink or in the bilge, so I’m totally confused.

Here’s what I’ve already tried (and what’s not working):

  • Took apart the pump filter (it’s a Shurflo 12V) to clean it—no dirt or debris, just clear water. Put it back together, and still the same trickle.

  • Checked the tank’s air vent on the deck—made sure it wasn’t clogged with leaves or grime (it was clean), so air should be getting in to let water flow out.

  • Bled the lines by opening all faucets and running the pump for 5 minutes—got a little sputtering, but never a steady stream. The tank gauge still says “full,” so I don’t think it’s empty (though I guess gauges can lie?).

I’m not super handy with boat plumbing, so I might be missing something obvious. Is this a common issue with F25 freshwater systems? Like, is there a hidden valve I’m forgetting to open, or a part that usually fails on these models?

Also, if anyone has a go-to diagram or manual page for the F25’s freshwater setup, that’d be a lifesaver—I only got a basic owner’s manual with the boat, and it’s pretty vague on plumbing. Thanks so much for any help—really don’t wanna cancel my trip over this!

Think the diaphragm on the pump has failed ot making pressure to turn off pump
Take the pump off put the inlet and outlet into a bowl of water and power up the pump to check it is pumping block off the outlet to check the pump stops (not as easy as it sounds)

Shold be able to get a kit on line

You probably need a new pump. They do not last forever.

Thank you very much for your response. If I were to purchase a new pump, would I need to buy the same model? What would be a reasonable price range?

Thank you for your response. Water is being pumped out through the outlet, but the flow is extremely low.

Will need to get current model specifications. But would guess $150 -$200. Might find a a deal shopping around.

Not sure this is a fit for your boat but here is an example.

As suggested above, have you disconnected it from the boat freshwater system and tested it with a hose to a bucket yet ?

BTW - it could not hurt to clean and sand or grit from faucets and filters.

Before you buy a new pump strip down the top end and check there is not an bit of obstruction stopping the diaphram from sealing ,but they do age with time

If the motor is running OK get a replacement diaphram kit about half the cost of a new pump and simple to fit

You do not need the same model. The inlet and output fittings are pretty universal. Just have to be sure it is same voltage as your system, most likely 12v. I like a lot of pressure, so I got a 40psi, 4 gallon/minute pump. I have replaced mine a couple of times. Some last longer than others. The last one I got was 9 years ago and it has worked well for me. It looks like the same model Pearce suggested: https://defender.com/en_us/jabsco-par-max-hd4-marine-freshwater-delivery-pump?utm_id=143783458262&utm_campaign=19735474067&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_content=649599978904&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19735474067&gbraid=0AAAAAD_ojemgvhToz-9wdeK2srqd92SnD&gclid=CjwKCAjwgeLHBhBuEiwAL5gNEQfOAY9R5hyjVyEZQSHIowSNAqMyUxtx4B1ucukMSLgJxnQY8ov01xoC7CcQAvD_BwE#493=19515&615=29538
