Honorary Member

Jac;

I can’t remember the name of the Dutch fellow who posted the old
archives on his web site either. But you’re right, he should be an
honorary member. I have taken the liberty of inviting Mark Edwards of
Freedom Yachts to be an honorary member and I’m glad to report that he
has accepted. Some of you may not know that Mark used to be in
customer service when Freedom still built sailboats; my owners manual
has a letter signed by him. Although he is now a yacht broker for
Freedom, he still tries to help out when he can. I originally
contacted him about possible Freedom support (nature unspecified) for
the group. He referred me to the VP of sales, with whom I’ve
corresponded, and Mark has promised to make sure the issue doesn’t get
lost. I also think it would be a good idea to ask Everett Pearson of
TPI if he’d accept an honorary membership; TPI actually built the
boats; Freedom was just a marketing arm at the poijnt. And, of
course, we should ask Garry Hoyt.

Best wishes,

Al

I second the motion on inviting Garry, Mr. Pearson, and Mark.

My recent interactions with Mark provide an interestin example for
the need for this group. He contacted me, knowing I was an F40 CK
owner, to make a template of the Hydraulic Ram Cover for an owner in
Florida who had lost hers during yard work. Of course I’m going to
do it. And of course I’m going to post the dimensions to the group.
The next time someone says, “hey… anyone know the size of a…” we
should be able to provide the information.
