Help! My engine cooling outlet hose (2”) is leaking at a point astern of the engine and water heater under the helm platform. I removed the water heater and if I crawl back over the top of the engine, over the top of the vacant water heater cradle, I still can’t reach the hose, never mind work on it to replace it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get in there? The hoses are located under the original propane locker below the mizzensheet track.ill try and add photos.
I have the same issue on my 33 CK. Maybe my five-year-old grandson can get up in there…
On these series constructions, a maximum number of switchgears are installed before the bridge is laid. It’s all very easy.
The designers give no thought to what awaits the yachtsman when he has to intervene.
I don’t know how many hours I spent in the space under the cockpit, where all the bulkheads have been changed.
Fitting the new exhaust pipe was a real pain, but I managed.
Yep mine was a royal pain. If I have to do it again then maybe a new access hatch just forward the pedestal.
I did cut in an 8 inch access hatch on the aft stern to make gaining access to the hose. and was able to feed most of the hose through that with the 90-degree elbow. Made all hoses extra long then crawled into the coffin to attach to the wet exhaust. The other end with up to a loop which is accessed with another round access hatch.
Tight access is common on the F33. Best options: remove the propane locker or cut an access hatch below it. Also check for hidden panels or try flexible tools from above. If none work, a stern locker panel might offer access.
