Hoyt 32 Galley Sink

Posted by jackcarles (johncarles@…>)

Does anyone know of where a replacement sink can be bought or which
manufacturer produces one?

Thanks

Has anyone found a replacement that fits into the original cut-out?

I just had the thing polished and smoothed, which took out all of the discoloration and scars. The retaining bolts were well rusted.

I had not thought of powder coating. That would create a great finish. I worried about chips in any finish that I would add.

For me, the rest of the hardware came off pretty easily.

No…I took mine out and re-finished and re-attached it. It was a
horrible horrible job getting the nuts off the bolts to free it.

I eventually just cut them off and had new ones welded on. It was much
easier.

The manual pump still leaks after replacing it. I have tried
everything but have just learned to live with it.

Thanks; getting the sink out wasn’t too bad, but getting the drain hardware off is daunting. your comment about refinishing made me think of powder coating; what did you have done?JackAvventurajsforgey <jsforgey@…> wrote: — In FreedomOwnersGroup@yahoogroups.com, “jackcarles” <johncarles@…> wrote: > > Has anyone found a replacement that fits into the original cut-out? > No…I took mine out and

Luckily, I keep I found a machine shop Girlfiend in the Venice of America, Ft. Lauderdale.

There is a custom stainless and aluminum fabrication shop that was next to the woodworking shop I used to create shelves and a dish rack. They do all sorts of fancy tubing projects for fishing boats, and were glad to polish it out and add the bolts to the bottom for a very nominal fee ($25.00).

They had all the equipment right there in the shop and did it in minutes.

So any shop that fabricates stainless should work. It is clean and stain free, but not a mirror finish. Just uniform stainless.

Hope that helps.

If I may ask, where did you have it polished and smoothed? Our sink in an F36 had to be removed for another project. I have had difficulty finding a replacement. Would love to take the old one to someone who could smooth the lip and polish it. Thanks. patjsforgey@… wrote: I just had the thing polished and smoothed, which took out all of the discoloration and scars. The retaining bolts were well rusted. I had not thought of powder
