Does any one know how to decode TSP hull numbers? I thought I saw the
info on this site, but can not find it now.

Here is a posting I made last March:
The manual for our F36/38 has a page devoted to HIN numbers. It says
that boats molded before August 27, 1984 used one system and those
after August 27, 1984 used another. The earlier system was:
TSP for builder ID
12 for model
345 for hull number
M67 for model year
Letter for month of manufacture, with A for July 16-Aug 15 and
proceeding to L for Jun 16-July 15.
The more recent system (after Aug 27, 1984) follows the U.S. Coast
Guard request:
TSP for builder ID
12 for model
345 for hull #
A6 for date of manufacture with A for January and proceeding to L for
December
78 for model year.
Thus, I believe a hull of TSP36002A585 (the manual’s example) would
be molded by Tillotson-Pearson as model 36 with hull # 002 on January
5, 1985.

I would like to add one more thing about the hull numbering system beginning with the Mull 36 in 1985 - Freedom built hull numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, and so on skipping 1,3,5,7,9, and 13. The purpose was pure marketing to get the production run into double digits quickly. Your description of the old HIN numbering system is almost correct.
My HIN is TSPF4404M81J
So that would be
TSP for builder
123 for model F44
45 for build number 04
678 for modelyear 1981
9 for production month J.
