I just spent a nice afternoon with Frank, owner of Freedom 40 hull 4 (we are hull 7) and was delighted to discover that he has the iron centerboard with an electric winch same as us. I’m not crazy! The previous owner to Frank, who was also the original owner, discovered that T.P. were about to make the switch to the lighter boards when number 4 was built and he had argued with them to install the heavier (2000 pounds) board. I’m glad that the original owner of hull 7 built later that same year of 1976 apparently did the same for Marquesa. 
Other than that, lots of similarities and lots of differences. There was a dipole antenna on the deck and also a horizontal beam running from mast head to mast head!
So… hence forth we can boldly make posts concerning our centerboards in the “Mechanical Systems” sub-forum.
