It''s sow simple.....

I emailed to Freedom, and a person (Butch Hitchcock) at customer
service looked in their files and found the engine and gearbox
serialnumbers of my boat, F44 hull #4. He emailed me back the next
day; good show of Freedom/Legacy!

I called my Perkins importer, gave him the gearbox serialnumber, and
he said the gear reduction ratio is part of the gearbox
serialnumber! the 25R in my serial number means 2.5:1 reduction
ratio.

Hi all,

I’m in for a new propellor, but I can’t read the ID plate on the
gearbox.

I have F44 hull # 4 from 1981.
There’s a Perkins 4108 (lowline, approx 1980) in it with a Hurth
HBW
100 gearbox. These gearboxes were made with several reduction
ratios.

Does anybody know which reduction would be the most likely one on
my
Hurth gearbox?

Thanks!

Michel
