Just talked to the folks at Pompanette (successor to Beckman/Bowmar) in search of replacement gaskets for the two opening ports in the galley/nav station area of my F-36 (#46, 1986). The ports in question are aluminum ones which have minimal interior protrusion and are closed with lever, not to be confused with the plastic ports with knobs for closure.
Pompanette determined that they no longer make the port (after receiving digital pictures) or the gasket. They said the only thing left to do would be to purchase new ports which they would sell me for 1/2 price or $231 each. Currently I am considering permanently closing the ports by sealing them with silicone. Anyone got any better ideas?
Bill

Don’t make the ports permanently closed. you’ll miss out on the
ventilation and when you sell the boat most buyers will wonder about
you. If you don’t want to buy from Pompanette/Hood then give New
Found Metals in Port Townsend a ring. They have some nice metal
ports that are pretty reasonable.

I had the same problem, Bill. The gaskets are old and have lost
their flexibility. Over the course of a season, I applied multiple
coats of “Armorall” and the gaskets regained their seal. Armorall
twice or three times a season is now std. maintenence on all ports.
