lifting outboard up before sailing

I’m trying to rig something that would help me pull the motor out of
the water when I’m resdy to sail. I just bought a 6h.p yamaha 4
stroke and it weighs 88lbs. I way 135lbs. I’m thinking a rear
stanchion and some type of block and tackle.

any ideas???

If you have a stern rails, you can attach a 4 part system using two fiddle
blocks: one with becket and cam cleat. Attach the shackle on the fiddle with
cam cleat to a fitting on the stern rail and attach shackle of other fiddle
to something on the motor or mounting pad assembly.

I used this on another boat where the motor was 90 or so pounds and it
really helped. In my case the motor was a long reach when in the down
position due to high freeboard.
