Posted by Lola Jackson (lolaltd@…>)
Al …what was that lubricant I should get for my slides on the mast…I deleted…oops I had put spray graphite on right before this so I would need to get that cleaned out too.

Would the new lubricant do it?

Thank you

Keep in mind that the track and slides are only some of the
factors that could prevent your sail from falling easily.
The sheave at the top of the mast may be bad or need
lubrication. The halyard may be having friction inside the mast or where it
exits or runs back to the cockpit.
You can check (if you haven’t already) some of these factors
just by putting a line on the halyard and pulling it up and down (under some
tension but without the sail) and see if there is any resistance.
