WE have two mast boots on our F36 ketch which work very well. They
are in the West Marine catalogue, page 1087- sailing
specialties ‘universal mast boot’. They have been cut for easy
removal and replacement on our boat and I have had them on and off
several times. They use a big hose clamp, do not require adhesive,
and partly cover the aluminum casting at the deck. The Spartite or
original Freedom gasket keep most water out but are not totally
waterproof.
