Helo all,
I’ve just joined the group because I’m looking at a Freedom 40 CC to perhaps buy.
To date I have only see photos of the boat which is quite far from me - but I notice the support rings at deck level for the masts are different.
The forward (main) mast which passes though the deck up near the bow just seems to have a simple ring around the top of a grp (possibly wooden) plinth. This appears to be designed with a joint. Is that ok or should it be in one piece?
Main:

The aft (mizzen) mast has an alimuinium casting where the mast goes through the bridgedeck just aft of the companionway. This has a joint in it but looks more ragged - should it have a joint or should it also be in one piece?
Mizzen:

If there’s a 40 cc owner out there who could put up pictures of theirs I’d be grateful.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Roger.
