I noticed in your pictures you were in the process of redoing the
nonskid. What did you decide to use?

Alan,
In the decks and non skid there were thousands of hairline cracks. The
deeper ones were ground out and filled, the rest was sprayed with
several coats of thick Awlgrip primer. Then everything was sanded
smooth, so not much of the original non-skid pattern remained after
filling, fairing and sanding.
Next, the deck was sprayed with two coats of high gloss off white
Awlgrip. After that, the non-skid patches were rolled in with Awlgrip
non skid deck paint (color desert sand) with Awlgrip medium grain in
it. I decided against the coarse grain because it hurts on the knees.
The paint expert convinced me not to use the finest grain if I wanted
to stay on my feet.
I haven’t tried it yet in real life circumstances, but the non skid
feels rough enough.
The advantage of non skid paint over Treadmaster (which I had on my
previous boat) is that you can keep paint clean much easier.
Regards,
Michel
