Has anyone modified the stern pulpit on an F32? When we board from
the dingy, we ascend the stern ladder and must step over the pulpit
railing. I have thought about cutting the top rail between the inside
posts and adding a short length of lifeline wire and pelican hook.
Any thoughts on how this would effect the strength and integrity of
the stern pulpit?
Thanks,

Can you describe the pulpit? if there are two bars across the back,
you’re probably ok cutting one, although you may want to consider
finding a new pushpit that was designed that way, simply for
aesthetics. If you have at least two stanchion bases supporting each
side of your pushpit, you can probably get away with cutting without
too much loss of strength.

TW,
Seems to me that the pushpits with opening top sections don’t look any different that those without. I always wondered about doing it on our 28, since most of the similar 30s had the openings. You have the choice of a s/s tubing piece that pivots out of the way (which is the way Freedom did it) or a piece of lifeline as you suggest. Either requires finding the appropriate fittings for the cut ends, which should probably be welded or threaded on and not rely on the usual setscrews.
