I want to mention that although I feel Lucite-AR is as good as you
can get for ports, I endorse polycarbonate for replacement glazing of
the Bomar deck hatches found on the Freedoms. The reason for this is
that polycarbonate is way stronger than acrylic sheet of the same
thickness. Polycarbonate is used for so-called “bulletproof” glazing
used for teller windows in high-crime locations. 1/2" of
polycarbonate will stop 38 caliber bullets.
