Mystery piece of equipment

Posted by lance_ryley (lance_ryley@…>)

I have a piece of equipment that came with Bright Star and I have no
idea what it is. It is stored in a white cardboard box with the
following markings:
Printed - Stock No: 81-2571
Item No: TK-6620
Handwritten: 5/15/90
Whitley, Chicago

Other than that, there’s no markings

The equipment consists of two triangular shaped metal bases. The
bases have slots in the arms, as if the base is to be bolted down
and adjusted.
The center of each base is threaded, one of the bases has a larger
diameter than the other.
There is a special threaded bolt for each of the bases. The top of
the bolts have a surface for either putting into a drill or using a
wrench on. The other end of the bolt is hollow. There are pointed
snap-in metal pieces that fit the ends of the bolt(s).

Any ideas?

Hard to tell from the description. Wondering
if it’s a prop puller or used to remove the shaft. My prop puller sounds
different but the bolt description sounds similar.

Is this thing heavy- or light-duty? Sounds like could be a fixed mount for
a radar reflector.

Lance,

I think it’s what was originally called a widget.

MichelThis is defintely not a widget. this is a walnut puller. You clamp one end to the branch of a walnut tree the other end to a nut tighten the bolt and, you have a nut. Or it could be a widget. In my tool box it would be a hammer. Come to think of it, everything in my tool box is a hammer John “michel.capel” <michel.capel@…> wrote: Lance,I think it’s what was originally called a widget.Michel;^}— In freedomyachts2003@yahoogroups.com, “lance_ryley” <lance_ryley@…> wrote:>> I have a piece of equipment that came with Bright Star and I have no > idea what it is.
