Has anyone used this item. They claim to extend battery life, even
restore sulfated batteries, but it sounds like snake oil. Here is a

IN response to
Nanopulser
The system on S/V
Cayenne from Ample Power with a charger controller and two 55 amp power modules
cycles the float current to achieve the same result. I have limited the
output of the modules to 85 amps to allow charging with a 2kw Honda. I
have two + years on the system so will not understand longevity results for a
couple more years.
I think new,
high end, systems do something like pulsing.

Bill,
Bright Star came with a desulfator installed when I bought it. The
electrical system at time of purchase had been designed by Jack Rabbit
with Ample Power components (they have since stopped supplying Ample
Products). I believe Bright Star’s electrical was redone by the
previous owners in about 1997, and so far the 8D AGM’s appear to be
in ‘like new’ condition.
Even though the original Ample pieces have died one by one and I’ve
replaced them with equivalent systems, I’m keeping the desulfator.

Out of curiosity I wrote to Peter at JackRabbit to see if they had
an opinion, since they don’t sell desulfators. Here’s his reply:
Lance…
They seem to work OK in bringing back to life (temporarily) wet-cell
batteries that have been chronically undercharged. A better solution
is to
have the right charging system so that they are never needed…
They can’t do any harm on a well-maintained battery.

Subject: desulfators
Hi folks,
one of my online forums brought up an interesting question about
desulfators
and their effectiveness in prolonging battery life. Bright Star has
one
(installed back when the Ample Power system was installed), and I
wondered
if Jack Rabbit has an opinion about them.
Thanks,
Lance
