nearly free suit of first sails for a Freedom 36/38

You pay shipping, or pick up,
I will gift them to you.

Everything you need for a back up set if going off
shore,
or if you’ve had a temporary loss due to wind,
hurricanes,
or…?

My little single garage is just too small to keep
walking
around these. Chances are, I’m unlikely to go
offshore.
So, no need for me to have a back up main and jib.

But you may have use for them. If some list member
does
not express interest over the next week, I’m going to
begin
contacting brokers that have either a 36 or 38 listed.
See
if any of them are willing to come up here and fetch
these.

First dibs to our fan group at freedomyachts, and to
FOG.

These were original edition to the boat, circa late
1986.

Have probably not seen use for five years. I unrolled
them on
my lawn in a dry spell about two months back and
examined
them. [Really BIG lawn.]

They look to be in very good, useable this minute,
condition.
Some patches, minor, and apparently professionally
made.

Let me know,
and thank you.

If you were considering a personal picking up of
these, I live
90 miles north of Seattle, 62 miles south of
Vancouver, BC.

In Bellingham, upper west Washington State. US.

Cheers,

If noone takes you up on your generous offer we could put them on
Ebay for you. Ebay has a feature that allows you to designate a
charity and a percentage that will go to that charity. There are
some good marine oriented charities. We have made some small
donations through Ebay listings in the past. I think Coral Reef
Alliance is one of the organizations we donated to. Our company
gives a percentage of profits to marine oriented environmental
charities. I like the fact that Ebay has partnered with charities to
get some money into the non-profit sector.

Oooh. GREAT idea. Thank you. A young lady from Boston,
Katie, called this afternoon. Had just blown out her
jib. Next frightened herself with Haarsticks’
replacement estimate. I gave her the jib. She was both
overjoyed and having trouble believing it. How often
do we get to be Santa, anyway? It appears she and
loved one also call their F38 home, so 'tisn’t like
they are necessarily made 'o buck$. But, they could
be.

That wouldn’t bother me, either. The point was to get
these still usable items out of my garage. Good deeds
have a way of returning.

Meantime, did I ever get a warm feeling listening to
her happiness!
We KNOW if I ever want to visit Boston, I can now go
out with good folks on a boat very similar to one I
already love…

Dave, do you know Delta now has a suburban carrier
that lands right here in Bellingham? It seems the
P.I.T.C.H. regatta (Labor Day weekend, September) may
be adding a cruising class entry this year, first
time. We are aiming toward it. Winds pick up about
then. We could be a sleeper. Let us know!

Cheers,
Jacqui mac

Captain Jac,

You will do exceedingly well in the cruising class.

I know that carrier flying into BLI really well. I get checks from
them about twice a month. It’s the same airline that used to fly in
and out of there as United Express using the Brasilia turboprops. I
was on that very sad last flight out of BLI on 10/30/01. Problem
with the DCI service is that it launches from SLC. Getting to BLI is
easy for me - just a connection through SEA. It’s just a matter of
finding the time. I was just thinking about you guys today. I’ll be
as far north as Everett this week but I have to be back in PDX by 5
the next morning. What night are those beercan races?

Well, they are Wednesdays. But we opt out of the
summer set.
More Wednesdays of insufficient wind than not. We
generally
participate in the early (Winter and Spring) series,
then again
in the Fall.

We are hoping to do the Around Shaw Island Classic if
that
appeals, and aligns to your availibilty. That one is
Saturday
August 12. 10 AM. A one day. Skipper’s Choice
circumnavigation.

Hilarity ensues. The old 80/20 pack behavior rule.
Most of
the leet goes one way 'round. Less of the fleet goes
the other way.
Hairy and thrilling middle part wheere the fleet
passes through itself…

Cheers!
Call whenever
