Need a part to attach my jib

Hello all, I was attaching my new jib on my Freedom 30 and I lost the stainless steel bracket which attaches the camber spar and the sail to the metal stay. Damn thing slipped out of my hand and went overboard. Neither a magnet nor a diver could find it.

Does anyone know either the dimensions of this piece or how to get a new one?

I need specific information to give a fabricator. Width, dimensions, etc.

Anyone that has that please share.

Here is a good source for this and other parts (scroll down).

Mine had a hole that I ran a piece of parachute cord through and tied it to the head stay.

There are 2 holes on that metal piece which can be used to attach a lanyard. May I suggest that you do that in the future? :grinning: Believe me, I’ve been glad to have it tied on!

I’ve got a spare from my F-30. No need to get one fabricated.

How about $20 including postage?

Paul Dennis at Warren River Boat Works has these in stock, I think.

Join the club. I did this exact same thing the first time I took the camberspar off my F30. It’s really a three-hands on one person job. As has been said, Paul had the replacement and a boatload of knowledge. To make it easier, I replaced the threaded rod that held that whole contraction together with a stainless shoulder bolt, fender washer and lock nut. McMaster Carr had exactly the needed parts, as usual.

I sent you a PM. I’d love to take you up on your offer.

Thank you Stephen. You right. It’s very frustrating. Of the 5 loose pieces, this is the only one I can’t replace at the local hardware store.

This is the listing on ebay for Warren River Boatworks. Next time, tie a line through the hole and attach to the pulpit so it wont land in the drink!

Thank you all. I have one on the way! Freedom sailors are the best!
