New Main Sail

Posted by sailing20057 (sailing20057@…>)

After a great sail and stay at Angel Island last weekend, I can no
longer stand to hear “when are you going to replace that wore-out and
ugly main sail”. Let it be know that Killin’ Time a freedom 39’ cat
ketch is going to bite the bullet. Anybody have some suggestions or
know of a sail maker that has made these before. Mine is from UK
sails, just wanted to know all my options.

I am very happy with my sails from Haarstick Sailmakers, which has made sails for Freedom boats since the boats were originally built.

I second Haarstick. They really know how to build a Freedom sail,
esp. for a cat ketch. My main last year… it was hard to make it
look ‘bad’ when it was up.

Hey Tom,

I bought North sails for Ketch 22. Pete McCormick is the local rep.
He came to the boat to measure, fit and install the sails. I was and
still am pleased. The new sails made a huge difference in light air
sailing.

The loft is in Alameda, right near the Rutherford winery (kill two
birds with one stone).
