We recently replaced our Quantum laminate main with a new Quantum Fusion M6 mainsail. The new main has made a significant improvement in our 45cc’s sailing performance, 1. Regularly maintain sailing at AWA of 30 degrees maintaining speed. 2. Less mast movement in the Chesapeake chop-the sails low stretch and shape better support the rig. 3. Less heel and weather helm - Able to carry full sail longer in building wind/gust speeds . We maximized the roach and incorporated 3 reefs.
Performance sails do make a measurable difference in our opinion.
The new cockpit hard top has also made a significant all round improvement. It was designed to allow us to climb incorporated aft ladders and tend mainsail and stack pack as needed. Two van type opening glass sunroofs were incorporated as were interior lighting, speakers, overhead fan, overhead iPad USBs/ mounts, Access to mainsail and stack pack has made life easier- no more fabric enclosure tops!
